Tvpaint and big images
« on: December 16, 2004, 12:42:25 AM »
Hi

I have and A4000 with a csppc and 144MB ram and I need tvpaint to make a very large picture (4920x2952). When I start it, it says that I haven't got enough ram for the undo buffer (which is very important of course).
But the workbench title bar says I have still ~60Mb free fast ram.
So I thought maybe this memory will be used for other layers or something. But as I tried to create another layer it also said "not enough memory"..
I don't understand this and its very anoying, also because don't have the time to get into photoshop or get winuae to work.. Is there some way I can make tvpaint to use the rest of my ram, too? Oh yeah and vmm doesn't work either on my system :-(

Thanks for the replies guys, I have now decreased the size to 3690x2214(which should also be enough) and now I have enough memory. Maybe I should really get into photoshop (also because its the industry standard) in the future.. or maybe I will get an micro aone if I have a lot of spare cash some day..
