RGB to VGA adaptor
« on: February 27, 2011, 09:01:42 PM »
Hi Guys! I'm new here and signed up having just rescued my old A1200 from a pile of dust in the Attic! :) I used to have a lovely Multiscan monitor that I bought from David Pleasance. Managing Director of Commadore UK. Sadly! It's now dead! So I've been trying to find an alternative. I have a 17" CRT monitor and I was wondering if this would work? What d'you think?

The link is to this. It costs £18 I would imagine that's about $25...?

Here's a couple of options to consider:

The scan doubler is £85. I can't justify spending that amount on my Amiga. As much as I love it!  I might try the option I've posted. If it works! It wont take much to encase it. And at £18, it will be worth it! It says clearly that it converts 15k to (2x) 31k. I'll let you all know if it works!

OK. Tried it and it doesn't work! It almost works in that, I can see the the workbench screen intermitantly! And I'm sure somebody a lot more savvy than I could probably tweak it to work!  Ah well! Back to the TV. :)

You can get the menu overlay of the converter? Probably it's set to ypbpr, or it is set to NTSC (or PAL and you live in an NTSC-using country).

I have tried all possible modes from the menu.
