CD ROMS
« on: January 04, 2003, 04:04:38 AM »
Hello
I have a couple of questions about Read-write cd rom drives.  I have an A3k and It seems that anything
scsi is twice as expencive as an IDE drive.
I have an external SCSI drive box with room for another drive.
Can I have an IDE controler installed along with the
scsi . If so which is best?  This would also mean adding an external IDE box.
I see only 2 software packages that support rom
burners, which is better and does it matter which,
SCSI or IDE?  What is EIDE??
Also what is ment by DEO &TEO ( it was something like that) . Are they format standards, they are mentioned with "BurnIt" and the other package
 ( I don,t remember the others name).
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Also along this line I noticed an earler post about
a card or is it an adptor called the "ACARD" .
It sounds like it converts SCSI to IDE. If this is so,
then it sounds like I can use this card to plug in an
IDE drive on the SCSI and it will work.
Anyone know anything more about this?
And if all this is true, where would I get the "ACARD" ??
