OK.. The WE3040 is a nice accellerator, it gave
my A3kd-030/25 a good boost in performance.
I also installed 2 32 meg chips, and the MoBo is
maxed out on ram. The machine will see all your
ram, I have a total of 80 megs fast ram.

You need to have the 040 lib in your lib dir.
Also required is 3.1 roms. (I think)

Jumper settings
J100   (quadclk)   3-4  (ext)
J102   (brdclk)      2-3  (int)
J103   (fpu)             1-2
J104   (cpu clk)      2-3  (ext)

J151  (rom spd)      1-2   (25m)
J152  (rom spd)       1-2  (25m)
J851  (cpu spd)        2-3

There isn't much to it, just plug it in and go.
I use the Warp SCSI for my internal drive and
the Native (A3000) SCSI for my external drive
box. They work well togather. The Warp SCSI
is much faster than the C= SCSI,  you should
notice a difference.
When I installed mine .. there are a few brass
screw posts holding the MoBo in the case and
there are a couple of mounting screw holes in
the accellerator card. swaped around the posts
so I could hold the accellerator card down via
the mounting screw holes.  If your machine runs
hot things can move around from the heat. Keep
the card locked in tight. I also have a small CPU
fan blowing across the heatsync, it may not be
necessary but I had it in there from my A3640
card and just left it in.

@T3000

Hay  :-)  .. I put 64 megs ram on my WE3040
for less than $12.00 and that included shipping.
For sure it's worth the upgrade.
And the WarpSCSI is much faster than the C=SCSI.
Also worth the price of a ribbon cable.
I'd do the upgrades.
