This is only a guess, since I know diddly about
how things actually work ... but.....
It sound like it might be a heat problem.....
maybe, if you have a small CPU fan laying around
you could try directing some air at the chip.
(That is whichever chip controlls the keyboard)

He said the keyboards work fine on his other
A3k's, so that leaves the machine itself.
Although I've not experienced myself, I have heard
of many ocasions where a chip will work OK
when first booted up but after awhile when the
chip warms up it starts doing some funny things.
Example ... the 040 CPU ( A3640 card) are noted
for this.
Thats why I say put some cooling air on the
chip,  if it stays stable that tells you the problem.
If not then look elsewhere.  Its quick and easy.
