I have an A3000 which started out as a
softkick machine. It had ver.37 roms.
I'm not real sure if the roms were actually
ram chips or not. Anyway, I used
a "SuperKickStart" disk. On installation the
version of kickstart I was using would be copied
from "Devs" to ram. I could select which "KS"
I wanted to use, 1.3-2.04 or3.1. I changed to
burned in roms because my accellerator would
not run on V37 roms. Check Aminet, there are
some prgs. that will copy KS into ram.

To my knowledge all SCSI devices have the
termination jumper on the device itself.
I have heard of software termination but I
don't think its as reliable as setting the
jumper. Just set the jumper on the last device
on the ribbon.
I have "CDX" for installing CD roms.
Works ok for me.

Hmmm..
I have "CDX"version 2.01. I've had it for several
years.I never installed it on a 1.3 partition.
Ihave installed in 2.04 dos and 3.1dos.
I don't remember there being any difference in
the way the prg.ran. It is all about the same.
You just run CDX and answer the prompts along
the way. It asks for your drive name and device
number which you set with several switchs on the
drive. Usually the termination is also with these
switchs.
No docs came with my CDX but it was mostly
self explanatory. It took me a couple times
to figure it out, if I can do it, It's not that
bad ;-)
If you are having trouble .. Email me I'll try
to help.

(you probably have a newer ver. of CDX then me)
