Don't you guys use 'NonClick' ??
I've used it for years, since way back when I
ran a BBS on my A500. I've NEVER had a problem
with floppy drives.
I hate hearing that clicking sound, I think it
wears out the drive much faster.
NonClick works great (available on Aminet), it
just takes about 2 seconds longer for the drive
to reconize a disk has ben inserted.
I HIGHLY recomend it.
