I've surfed this site 1280*1024 on a 14" monitor (don't ask :-P ) and the avatar size of 90*90 is perfectly fine.
Anyways, it has nothing to do with the screen resolutions that people use, it has to do with the bandwidth as Wayne has already pointed out to you. You just seem to be unwilling or unable to grasp this concept.
Who cares what other sites have avatars anyway? This is not another site. I'm a member of 6 other forums, two of which have
no avatars. How do we cope? Easy, we read the names of the users. You know... that funny writing above the "very small" avatars :-P
