Floppy_fix.lha seems to be for the Amiga Technologies A1200s and not the Escom ones, that's maybe why it didn't work for you.
I don't know about schematics to fix the problem, but I had the same problem a few years ago.
My floppy drive eventually refused to work, so I sent it off to Eyetech who did the motherboard fix which allowed me to put in a proper Amiga floppy drive.
I think you need to replace the floppy drive with a proper Amiga drive aswell as do the motherboard fix, but I can't remember.
You could try asking them for the details about the Escom Floppy Fix.
