I've just got into
Nile. Most of their songs are Bathory/Deicide type stuff, but not about devil worship, and they do actually have some melodies :-D
I've heard Opeth a few times and can't actually get them at all.
I'd still recommend you pick up a copy of
Probot. I know there'll probably never be a follow up, but think of it as a tribute album to Lemmy, Max Cavalera, Cronos, Tom G. Warrior, King Diamond.
I haven't been following too much metal recently, I've been to busy finding out that I've only got half of Aphex Twin's stuff :-o
