Raspberry PI 1200
« on: June 10, 2013, 10:08:06 AM »
Heya

Some time ago I replaced the shell and keyboard (from amigakit) on my trusty 1200. I was horrified by how i had treated it as a teenager and spruced her up with an accellerator blizz 1230  , CF card and various other trimmings.

I kept the old shell and keyboard (which is knackered). The old shell has a crack in the case just in front of where the space bar might be.

I've been thinking of getting a new keyboard and using the old shell as a fun case for a raspberry pi AROS setup.

So i have 3 questions.

1) does anyone know any cool tricks for repairing that crack in the case?

2) would i be better off buying a broken a1200 of ebay and using that - or would it be cheaper to get a shell of ebay (I dont really fancy having to retrobright though)

3) on the off chance does any one have any of the two items hanging around they might want to get rid of?

Cheers

N.

1) give us a pic of the crack, also melting and using plastic with acetone might work?

2) I would repair and use what I got.

Are you planning on using the Amiga 1200 keyboard? Then you will have to get your hands on a Keyrah http://www.vesalia.de/e_keyrahv2.htm

Already have the Keyrah waiting in the wings ;)

The old a1200 keyboard  - i dont even know if i still have it so shall probably purchase a new one.

Pics to come ...

I actually got the location of the crack incorrect - (Its actually on the top half of the shell above the pcmcia hole)

thank for that info - i guess i should try epoxying it together first and then seeing what i can do to hide / fill the crack as best i can.

Other than that one mark the case seems pretty ok. except there is a slight brown burn mark on one side. I think that must have happened sometime while I was at university. cant think what might have caused that
