because Pegasos/A1 don't have the power to play a "modern" 3D shooter

Just a thought. On my AMD 900 with a paltry 128mb and an ATI 9000 PRo 64mb, I can run  the follwing, without any slowdown,  quite well:

MOHAA (including Spearhead)
Battlefield 1942
Hitman 2
Jedi Outcast

But I guess your talking about the next generation of 3d shooters like Doom III  :-) .

Cheers

even licencing ports costs a lot of money - the more successful the port, the more unlikely we'll see one for the Amiga. Look at Shogo and Heretic2 - good enough games but flops on the PC, so easy to get ported.

Absolutely right KennyR. Basically why we will never see Half-Life and the hundred mods for it (> best being  Day of Defeat) on OS4 or for that matter  MorphOS.  Heck not even the Mac could get a port of HalfLife :-( .
