Jeff,
I have read everything posted so far in this thread you have posted.  I have bought a lot of stuff on eBay and for the most part I have done well.  Admittedly a lot of what I bought was large comercial electronic parts which seem to come from a more reputable group.  I think a lot of the Amiga stuff on eBay is stuff from estates that vultures get by preying on people who know little or nothing about what they have.  In turn these vultures try to pass it on us by being as clever as their small brains will allow using lies in the form of ommission or the old "I don't know anything about this" line of crap.  As much as I hate to say this I believe it is a buyer beware game.  The list of warnings posted here in this thread is a good plan to follow.  I might add that I am not beyond pressing for details even after winning a bid.  I more or less give them one last chance to back out if they are trying to screw me.  I have found that if they are up to no good they will start to squirm when they think they are gotten on to.  One problem I have had lately is slow shipping.  I have also learned that the so-called power sellers are the ones to stay away from unless it is some deal you can't loose on.  I always give these guys the worst feedback I can in the number of characters we are limited to.  Always contact eBay with your complaint.  If they get enough on these rats they will be forced to do something.  Amiga.org should have a forum for rating eBay sellers that we can look at and use it to avoid any crooked sellers.
