I remember all the Commordore computers I've had and then let go only to buy them again later. Here we go.
 1. Bought a C=64 in Hawaii in Dec 85 while in the military. This was my first computer and everyone else in the barracks at Ft. Shafter were running games and hacking copies of the games. I used it to do a good bit of my college papers with no issues. I sold it in 1987 to buy a A500.
2. Had the A500 until I decided I needed a A2000 which I bought in 1989. Sold it in Califorina and got a 8088 PC, dumb idea.
3. Later assignment in Japan at Camp Zama in 1994 I joined a BBS group called FETCH and got a free C=64 they were throwing out. Still have it today.
4. In 1999 I bought a used A500+ from one of the Amiga on-line stores and added a CSA 030 Derringer card. Later gave it away after buying a used A2000HD. Kept the CSA card. I still have the A2000HD with the CSA card, Video toaster 2000 card and DPS card. It's currently sitting in a storage cabinet until I can find room in the next house to build my computer room. I think having a A1200 would make it easier and less complications?

Back in the 80's using computers was more fun and you had to try and work with the system which today's computers don't require any effort or brain power to use.
