Nice mod.
Instead of trying to send us to amibay all the time, why not just repost the mod here so we don't have to login to amibay to see some of the pix.
I don't think anyone could complain about cross posting etc and it would be freely viewable.

I thought I answered that question already:

Another problem here on A.org is that you can't edit old posts and I have been able to make VERY MANY updates and revisions on Amibay w/o Moderator assistance.

+1 to that!

I wonder, do you think this mod would make any difference to:

- Zorro II memory boards
- Zorro II Thylacine

I might have to take a stab at this at some point for my sluggish Thylacine, LOL.  ;)

A Zorro2 memory board is a "Slave" board and I answered this question in advance on the Amibay thread. I don't know about the Thylacine but Deneb in Zorro2 DMA mode certainly qualifies for this mod. ;)

Nice hack!

Is there any similar performance hack for Super Buster 11 in an A3000?

Yes, but it only works for Zorro2 "Slave" boards and the link is to Amibay (again).

Thanks!  I wasn't familiar with that term "slave" board.

Wondered how long it would take before @magnetic would chime in here.  ;)  Obviously they're your tips (and we thank you for them!), but your limiting yourself a bit IMHO.  Amibay might reach only, what... 10% of the Amiga audience?  At least if I google your tips they come up with links pointing to there, so it's not like the stuff is totally impossible to find.  I'd still throw a copy up on Aminet for good measure, but again, your call.  Thanks for doing all this hardware hacking for us!  :pint:

The term "Slave" is used by Dave Haynie in various Zorro bus specification docs he wrote. Any type of Zorro2 or Zorro3 card which lacks the ability to master the bus is a slave. The DMA boards are described as bus "Masters".

However, a DMA board must first arbitrate the bus before it can master the bus. The Buster chip acts as a sub-arbiter between the Zorro slots and the CPU. This hack speeds up the sub-abitration process.

P.S. Please don't reply to magnetic's post. His issues with Amibay are completely OT from this topic and he's already caused several threads to be closed. I don't post these links as "Troll Bait" but your on-topic comments and questions are certainly welcome. ;)
