Help with Mroocheck/Punchinello needed
« on: November 29, 2002, 10:30:16 PM »
Well, I just bought Punchinello (which I assume is the same as Mroocheck) and it worked fine. Then I decided I'll try the wheel. For that, drivers are naturally needed, but after driver installation left mousebutton doesn't work, right mouse button doesn't do anything, and wheel pressed down works as a right button. I have tried to load it after workbench startup is finished manually, at the second last line of startup-sequence just before endcli-line, and as the basic installation leaves it.

The mouse and adapter works fine if mroocheck driver isn't loaded, so I think this issue is curable?

I just noticed, that if I keep Wheel-button pressed down all the time after mroocheck-driver is loaded, lmb and rmb work as they should.

I'm using logitech mouses - without drivers it works fine, but when I load drivers, everything goes crazy, unless I keep the wheel pressed down all the time.

I'm not sure what version it it - adapter is grey, has serial output instead of PS/2, and it has funny white sticker with Power Computing logo on it.

Maybe this adapter uses different drivers that Mroocheck - are there anywhere Punchinello drivers? Where can I get drivers for this - I got my current (mroocheck) drivers from Gfxbase. Since I don't have serial number on my adapter, I can't subscribe drivers from Elbox.  Maybe some Punchinello user could post me or point d/l-place for me?

Thomas:

I would have registered, but there is only Power Computing's sticker on  the adapter - no serial number that's required for registration at Elbox.  :-?

And I have tried those drivers (got them from gfxbase.com) - they caused those problems I described earlier.  :-(

I just read old Power Computing's ad from Amiga Format. They are selling Punchinello (MkI?) for 25£, and addtional wheel-upgrade+software for 5£.

Could it be that I have this old Punchinello, and that I require some sort of hw-upgrade for it to allow normal usage with wheel and buttons?
