VGA to DVI or HDMI best picture options

I'm looking to convert the output from my voodoo 3 from analog to digital.

What is the best option for quality?  Would a simple $3 converter work, do I need something more fancy to get great results?

What resolution do you use with the converter?  I'm going to use at least 1280x1024x24 for workbench.  Is it solid and clean?

During the Summer, I bought one of these VGA-to-DVI converters for NWCA, they are very cheap (even cheaper now that they're on sale!) and work very very well

Hi Tygre,

I bought one of these and it doesn't work well.  Everything is dark and almost unreadable.  I tried the voodoo as well as amiga video with the same results.

Any ideas?  Perhaps it is defective.
