GoldED AIX Purchase?
« on: May 03, 2004, 04:52:08 PM »
How do you buy a legal, registerable, upgradeable (to the extent
that Service Packs are already available) copy of Dietmar Eilert's
GoldED?

The demo docs and his website refer you to dealers.  Vesalia and
Kicksoft appear to have GoldED 6.  Is that upgradeable to AIX?
There must be something I'm missing.

I'm trying to prepare a discussion of text editors for my user
group, and hope to provide accurate information on availability.

I'm presently using the (small) demo package, and, although some
features are puzzling, it is obviously a stable and powerful
system.  The GCC installation should be a substantial benefit too.

Thanks for your help,

Walter Miles

Thanks Xand

> The AIX version is available on the GoldED web site:

I've dusted off my PayPal account, and I'll probably make
the purchase in the near future.  I imagine that shipping
to the U.S. is more than the 3-1/2 Euros (or whatever)
ordinarily charged.

Still, it is puzzling to me that I could not find a
link (which you did provide) to

anywhere that I looked on the site.  I'm sure that it
must be there, but not in any obvious place.  The "buy
products online" link doesn't get you there.  Perhaps
an additional copy or two might be sold if that page
were more easily accessible.  It's a rough market out
there, though; Dietmar can't be much blamed for not
spending all his free time pushing the product.
