Hello Steven, that's one strange procedure you have! ^^ Do you try all the cars in a Car Expo before you choose the one you want? :D

More seriously, here is THE website for all the amigascene enthusiasts :
http://ada.untergrund.net/
You'll have all the main demos produced for the Amiga, ranked by year, mark, hardware, etc...

Then you can try Pouët, the main website of the demoscene. All the Amiga demos are there too, with ranks and forums :
http://www.pouet.net/

Last but not least, you can watch all those demos on the DemosceneTV :
http://www.demoscene.tv/
(There's even an App for that on the iPhone!)

One last thing : the answer to your question depends on your configuration. For instance, on an unexpanded A500, my favorite demo is Hardwired by Silents&Crionics.
On a 68060 A1200 you should watch the demos made by TBL, those by Ephidrena and those by Elude.
Then, if you have a PPC card with a 3D BVision, you can watch my favorite demo (an intro, actually) : Planet Potion, by Potion. Here's a video of it :

(but, really, watching this one live on your Amiga is a truly memorable experience :)

Hope that helped.
