I agree with the copyright concerns. The game is meant to be a tech demo/template for our shoot'em up SDK, which will show how to make use of Natamis new graphic capabilities.

While LucasArts usually are OK with game mods and PD fan games and such, I think it would be better if we provided this as a separate download and not distribute it with Natami. We are certainly not trying to "make money" out of someone elses IP, and we do not want the copyright holders to think so.

Maybe someone could provide some alternate, non-Star Wars graphic assets? I'd even be willing to take a crack at it if nobody else is.

This is actually the very point. It is a basic STG game engine making use of Natami SuperAGA graphics modes. It is the same engine that runs the 194x Deluxe game we have shown pictures from earlier. Anyone who gets a Natami can take this code and base his or her game on it - that is the very purpose of it. The Star Wars template/mod just happened because Gunnar loves Star Wars, and some team members are helping him with it.

Regarding the Windows/OS X/Linux ports, they are for the moment just used for development purposes (remember, only Thomas has Natami boards ATM). If they will be distributed too is not decided yet.

Regarding the legal situation, PD games and mods are usually OK with LucasArts. I respect all of your viewpoints about this - I myself have had my doubts if it is a good idea using such a high profile IP, no matter if the game material is 100% free and open. Maybe the project needs to be totally detached from the Natami Team.
