Yep, it's all in the crystals! Regardless, of the crystal difference, it is really the same board. And your trouble is tied to this jostling, bad contact I am most certain.
Made me go mad, wound up with a help ticket going to Amiga Kit (where I got mine) and it was frustrating, but eventually my tie under the socket and over the crystal worked great, good luck.
