I had the same issue.  I also bought an IDE 2.5 inch 128gb SSD, with the 40pin to 44pin adapter, I could never get the 4000 to detect it.  It works flawlessly on my Atari Falcon though.

I still have the SATA one that did the same thing, though it is a Patriot brand, if I recall.

I wonder if it'd work great in an A1200.

I have a similar set up to that Shamron, I am pretty sure I'd  gotten that SSD to boot once or twice, but then it wouldn't after that.  Then again my Cyberstorm MK1 bit the dust, and I haven't spent much time re-installing my Amiga to get it working again with the A3640 connected to the 060.  Last time I tried, once I installed Picasso, it gives me errors.
