Just picked up a G4 Mac mini on ebay
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:17:38 AM »
Hey guys i just picked up a bargain on ebay. At least in my opinion i did as they usually go for about $300 in Australia. Also the guy lives local so i just pick it up and save the $20 :)

I've been hunting for one of these for about a year so I'm pretty stoked.

Oh i forgot it already has Morphos installed which you can see in the main photo. Free license! :)

OK i got my Mini today. We live local so i got to speak to the guy in person. Always good to speak to another Amigan and he was really nice (he's eyeing an x1000 for Christmas). Unfortunately my DVI cable is screwed so i have to wait till i can get one. It's got Leopard on it but he gave me a media disc with MOS2.7 but I'll have to wait for a couple of weeks till i can try it as i am really busy.

But i do have some questions:

Is it possible to easily upgrade the mini from 32mb vram to 64mb?

Is it easy to over-clock for someone who has never done it before? It's currently running at 1.42 but there are people who have got theirs up to 1.8. I'm also worried about the over heating as Aussie summer is quickly coming and i don't want to worry about that. Exactly how much heat could i expect if i over-clock?
