And for parents of children who have never played an instrument before can now do play music in seconds. People who know how to play music take it for granted. The closest kids who have no idea about how to play an instrument got to playing music was following lights on a Casio keyboard. This is totally different. They can make their own music without knowing what they are doing on the device and show the world. Full songs using the smart instruments and it all sounds professional. It takes the arranger keyboard concept even further. This is a HUGE motivational tool to get kids to learn how to play.

If you think that is YAWN, great. To a 5 year old kid who has never played a note of music in their life, this is amazing.

Wow you make it sound so pointless. If you had your way we could just load up some software and push a command function named "make art/music". Presto - instant music without actually having to do anything.

Doing it your way is only going to dumb everything down a few levels to the point where it is meaningless. The only art i am interested in is the kind where there has been struggle and hardship in bringing it all together. I don't like quick and easy.

We are at that point already. A few years ago, I was working on an album and decided to take a break... Went to the chillout area of the studio and put the music channels on the TV... Over the course of an hour the chilling truth hit me; I was spending whole days working on single sounds and rewriting parts over and over again to get something fresh and original... Something that hopefully people would enjoy and appreciate... But as I sat there listening to the successful, commercial music... I heard nothing but boring simple chord progressions (the stuff you find in "My First Guitar" book), loops and auto tune.

Interesting. I remember Noel Gallagher saying something similar. He was talking about several weeks of intense studio experimentation only to suddenly realize they had just wasted weeks of precious studio time doing nothing. He then pointed out that cocaine does not help with creative output. For the record it was their album Be Here Now he was talking about. Bloodline are you snorting something you shouldn't be snorting? :)

@ Fishy Liz and Dentunes. I think both sides of this argument are right. The ipad may introduce people who would otherwise never attempt to make their own music a way in which they can. In that regard i think it is a good thing. On the other hand allowing talentless artists to make instant music is not a good thing. I don't want to listen to other peoples crap music if you don't mind...

P.S. excuse me if no of this makes any sense i am a wee bit drunk...

There's an app that by blowing on the touch screen you can blow out the candles on a birthday cake. Maybe they could make an app so when you to sniff the screen it shows you snorting coke :roflmao:

Is there any proper reason why they don't allow expansion? My camera allows me to put in extra memory in the form of a small card. It's not rocket science so why don't they put this on the ipad?

For the record i think the imac is a masterpiece of construction. It is beautiful and probably the best desktop i have seen. But i despise all things Apple so if i ever did buy a 27" imac the first thing i would do is remove the snow leopard and install windows 7 just to piss them off because deep down despite what they claim they don't have any power over us in any way whatsoever :)

While we are all dissing Apple (except for bloodline) what's up with the magic trackpad? Never tried one. Gimmick or innovative?

While i'm ranting what's up with people holding on to the osx boot disk and manuals?

When i almost bought a mac mini on ebay today the seller made it clear he wouldn't give me the manuals or boot disk. What possible use could this be especially as it was PPC? What happens if i need to reboot?

Apple sucks, hate everything about them, which is ironic as i'm writing this post on an imac and quite enjoying it too. I'm confused... :(

@Dentunes. I wouldn't worry too much with that attack. He does that quite a lot. Some people are jerks :)

P.S. it would be really cool if nicholas would stop saying cult, cultist and rape in normal everyday conversation. It's creepy :(
