Well, the mother board has one danger, the clock battery, but you can clean the motherboard with one product as contact cleaner use in electronic repairs, or a single way, alcohol of 96ยบ use in medicine cures but with much care, to avoid the plastic and some components sensitive for example the condesators if they hava charge, but with alcohol on a piece of cloth you can clean the motherboard bottom.
Amiga 500 with ROMs 1.3-2.05 and M-Tec AT 500 with hard disk and 4MB Ram.

I've hosed ugly old A2000 boards off on the sidewalk, but really, most boards I've seen were good enough after a blast of compressed air.
Also we know how and what dirt has the motherboard? the compressed air is good for case to lint and dust, with grease or mold the alcohol, with the use if there are carbon in the contacts etc. alcohol or the best a conctact cleaner, smoke from cigarrettes that left a dirt greasy with alcohol, etc., ect, but every case there are a solution.
