Glass filter for CM8833-II - to use or not to use?
« on: October 02, 2010, 07:50:16 PM »
Hi,

Do you guys think I should use an optical filter with my CM8833-II? It makes the picture so dark that I have to turn the contrast and the brightness settings of my monitor very high and I don't think that's a good thing.

I was using an optical filter with 1084S but CM8833-II has a different picture and I can't decide whether I should use the filter or not. What's your opinion?

Because 1084S strained my eyes so much that I couldn't bare it. I had to use the filter because I was concerned about my vision.

I think that CM8833-II is different and doesn't strain the eyes so much. But not I'm sure if it's really safe.

I hate LCD/LED displays for SD signals. I can't stand using my retro hardware with modern displays. That's why I must use CRTs.

1084S was ideal for me but now I have to use CM8833-II and I'm not fully satisfied with it.
