aros are now as usefull as a zx spectrum used as a doorstoper.
Beats having a A1 door stop. :-D
but in the future if people start concentrate on the important stuff like the x86 version and finish it, and doing all the applications that is needed as web browsers, build in uae emulators etc..
web browser - active developement
EUAE intergration - active developement
etc
then it will be very useful. but as usually the focus are on the wrong things like eifka support for example and many other none important things... it will take 5-10 years or more before its any use for the users that only want to use it and are not inetrested of how it work etc.
SAM440 and EFIKA are both in active developement. EFIKA is being done by Tigger who wasn't a AROS dev so his involvement has done nothing to delay other projects. Your guestimate for time is way off IMO, but time will tell. AROS is marching forward, each year we get new software and improvements on the existing software.
