I can't remember, but does the CPU variety in the X2000 series of boards have Altivec?

If so and it was possible to buy one without the Hyperion tax and
MorphOS was ported to it then I'd consider one myself if the price was right.

There is no Altivec in either P3041 or P5020/5040 chips...

What I find somewhat bizarre and funny is that VOX is so unhappy with the alpha/beta status of X1000 software, that he wants to sue... yet, he doesn't seem to mind going thru all that beta-testing chaos again with Cyrus

Yeah, IF they weren't soldering CPUs on the board... so you can't replace them easily.

Now I ask for full refund including import taxes. Great leader from Canada has told me they have left X1000 behind and focus on Cyrus. So yes, its exactly what Nemo lacks - CPU power and its much visible under modern Linux.

You are not thinking straight...

you want to return X1000 and buy SAM460... another not fully supported OS4 machine? And on top of that, it's even slower than X1000 under Linux(not to mention, even less supported).

You should buy a Peg 2 or even better a PowerMac G4/G5. And use the change to buy a nice classic machine or a used SAM440 if you really must use OS4.

Any court would immediately throw out the "it doesn't work on the software side" because it runs Linux perfectly well.

Yeah, but it was marketed as the new coming of Amiga OS4, not PPC Linux :biglaugh:
