Who on Amiga.org have you met in real life?

Well, I know a few people here pretty well. In no particular order, Andy, GadgetMaster, Nicholas, the_leander are part of the original "amiga.org curry night" crowd (Of those, only Andy is someone I knew before coming to the site, we go back many years). I used to see Venkman on a regular basis years ago as we happened to be on the same course. I've also met FluffyMcDeath a number of times when he's popped into the UK visiting family not to far from where I live, each time on one of the aforementioned curry nights.

A few years back, I went to a couple of amiga meetups in different locations and met other characters more than once too, like BobsonSirJohnny (the man that helped inspire the whole ASCII fiend episode) and various others whom I'm afraid I forgot (but would probably recognise if I ever bumped into them again).

Too late, I already queued up two headshots in VATS. Capped at level 30 with 100 energy weapons skill, sniper perk and the gauss rifle equipped, I don't fancy your chances :lol:

First shot resulted in most of the damage points being used in a knock down (a particularly common event with the gauss rifle), second shot non-critical. You were lucky.

^ though to be honest, the stealth armour, dart gun and shishkebab are my primary weapons. What you can't see and can't hear, you can't prepare for. Sneak criticals FTW

You should try the FatMan Ultra mod, which comes with a "Fat Man Extreme". Since completing the game (three times) I installed some of these frivolous things. The only way to survive firing the Fat Man Extreme is to do it over a hill so that it shields you when it detonates. Things tend to go cloudy for a while, since it basically uses the same model that detonating the bomb in Megaton uses.

Skip forwards to about 8:20...

If you haven't installed them, you simply must try out Fellout, BasicNeeds+Bottles and DC interiors. Also recommend Arefu Expanded, but it is a bit buggy. Enhanced Weather is also a nice mod with passing storms and even snow in the winter months, though this does go against the Fallout canon of a perpetual "Nuclear summer"...

Recently I've not met up with anyone since Bletchly park.

Out of interest do the curry night things still happen? I guess it'd only be an hour or so train ride for myself to attend.

Wait one... you may well be one of the guys I met at a meet up. I think it was one in Peterborough?

Being born completely deaf and never having the chance to learn language and social skills is very different to losing some of the volume in one of your ears. It also affects the way people act towards you. You may tell people you have trouble hearing and they can raise their voice for you to hear. I tell people I'm deaf and that's the end of the conversation. They get uncomfortable and walk away to find someone else to talk to.

That sucks. Still, such people probably have little worthwhile to say and despite being able to hear, never listen anyway. There's no reason why their social inadequacies should be any barrier to your going out and meeting up with interesting people.

I was on a course with a guy that was profoundly deaf from birth. I couldn't (and still can't) sign for toffee but thankfully he could lip read very well. I won't lie that understanding his speech was difficult at first, but having an at times strong regional accent I get that myself He was a great laugh and his perspective on life lived in complete silence was very interesting.

Having been one of the few idiots ever to have gotten himself a lifetime ban from the site, I expect you, er I mean he, would say that.

Yes, but I might as well wait until he leaves me no choice since then he can be banned for more than one good reason and any future doubts over his identity will be a bit moot

Doomy had more than one sock puppet all of which did exactly what you have been doing since you arrived. As Piru says, you want everybody to know or at least suspect it is you, but plead to innocence when called out on it. It hasn't worked before and won't in future.

What you seem to forget is that we recognised you almost immediately. What did you think all those "hidden" remarks about loading up the tranq rifle were for previously? As long as you stay under the radar, we tolerate you. But it isn't enough, you feel you have to run the crusade for restoring the image of Doomy, the most-hard-done-to user, praising his every move and when that doesn't work, demanding evidence as to the allegations made against him.

By banning me for no good reason, you will only prove that what Doomy told me about Amiga Org must be true.

I am sure you will give a good enough reason if you carry on like this. And hey, if it is true that you aren't Doomy, well you can enjoy a drink with him afterwards and feel all vindicated together.
