So what is it, a new production run of Amiga One motherboards?

X isn't Xorg, nor x86 and presumably nothing to do with OSX, so I was going to say X is the "unknown quantity", but that would probably need to be lower case serif font and italics :)

Aw, come on Red, it's a bit of fun and generated some interest at least. How long has it been since we had some guess the story shenanigans? :)

Blimey, new 'amiga' (yes, I realise that the term is subjective) hardware with a peripheral bus that's using present-decade technology? That is interesting.

My PC has 2 16x slots and uses an intel X48 chipset to provide them.

Sho' thing!

Now wait! In the far corner you can just about make out "AmigaOne Power X" - so that's what it'll be called.:idea:

Is that a Xilinx FPGA near the slots? Probably glue logic, but perhaps it's for something else?

The build-up to this was exciting until now. Now I'm getting impatient and just want to know what it is, and how much it will cost. If the information is available, I think they should just tell us. We've waited long enough for it :rolleyes:

You know, after a long period away from it all, I only recently got my A1 up to date and working properly (still needs more RAM though). It would be typical that new hardware becomes available in the meantime, eh?

I'm interested in hearing the specifics of the specs and also the price as well... If this is 3-4ghz I'd be interested, otherwise forget it.

I just don't understand paying so much for the current very old and outdated spec hardware. Yes I understand smaller runs means higher prices, but the difference is just too dramatic for my tastes...

Will be interesting to hear the price of this.

Steven

You might as well forget it now then. I doubt this will be anything above 1.5GHz if it's based on readily available PPC processors.

As for the spec, well, by the look of it, it has an up to date PCI bus (read express) and SATA at the very least. That's a lot more up to date than the majority of amiga hardware.

@Crom00

Erm, not sure why you are taking a dig at the minimig. It's hardware design is open source, so you could build your own at component cost if you wanted to.
