Such pessimism is bad for you, dude.

Wait and see, is all I would suggest.

@billchase

It isn't the password resetting that is the issue. I believe it was just chosen as a natural opportunity to leave by simply not renewing and hence fading out of existance after the reset.

It seems to me that the real reason for leaving is based on a misunderstanding regarding where the site goes from here, in the general sense. Wayne appears to have made it clear in the new reminder thread that he isn't about to radically change the place any time soon.

I'd hope that nobody leaves based on a misunderstanding.

/me makes enormous hint guestures towards the_leander :-)

@ltstanfo

Oh, I thought all passwords were going to be reset and that those of us remaining (ie with valid email addresses) needed to request a new one via the forgotten password trick?

Is it me, or did this thread just lose about 8 posts?

Bizzare. Our "mission critical" hosting server at work just rolled on it's back and croaked too.

I wonder what the third weird thing is? These random, unexpected and inexplicable things always come in threes.

(thinks: please God, let it be a pay rise)
