Is it me, or is the subject of a well wanked sock more interesting than US politics?

I can see a lot of parallels, actually. They are insidious, vile and have the potential to bring about mass revulsion and embarrasment.

Drawing a parallel with the current military operations, was it used in a direct penetration or merely in the following clean up operation?
