The way the weather seems to be turning in this country, I expect this kind of thing will become more common in future :-(

Boscastle, situated on the cornish coast has steep hills and narrow gulleys surrouding it that funnel the rainwater into the river pasing through it. Normally this isn't a problem, but when a months worth of rain falls in just 2 hours, you get a truly unstoppable force.
