I can see that this will become a bit of a hot potato :-)
Since parenting is something both sexes normally partake in, I can't see that there is any link between ones sexual orientation (paedophillia excluded, of course) and their capacity to be a good (or bad) parent. There are plenty of examples of lousy heterosexual parents, for example. Also, before homosexuality became more socially acceptable there were many homosexual people who found themselves in heterosexual marriages and bringing up children perfectly well.
That said, it's a complicated issue with many more factors than peoples sexual preference.
