Or a SCART monitor like early Philipses :-) (CM 8852 in my case).

SCART is the defacto standard A/V connector in Europe (and elsewhere? At least not in the US I think) for connecting VCR's/decoders/god-knows-what-else to TV's. Kinda like SVHS only better and with audio included ;-). Wikipedia on scart. (Icky, seems like it's a French invention :-)).

You mean composite? That transmits all image information via one cable. SCART splits it, thus giving better image quality.
