Great game I spent many a fine hour till 02:00 / 06:00 in the morning playing this game then having to go to work.
I first remember playing this on a 32k Electron with a cassette tape drive to load the game, I also remember dis assembling the Electron to pull out the speaker wires so that the machine would not wake the rest of the house when coming or going into hyperspace or getting into battles.
Bought the Commodore 64 after the Electron, then got an Amiga 500 and bought Elite which was a lot more fluid running on the A500 and took me a while to get used to, you really need to practice the docking on the space stations and excel yourself in battle, it does take a while to get used to it and it takes a lot of practice but its all worth it in the end.
