Since you've already gotten your help, let me just say this:
BACKUP!
It's wise to backup your sys:s (startup) drawer, as well as sys:prefs/env-archive (config) and probably others too. They're usually small in size, but rather important.
Also back up your rdb to ensure you can restore your partitions if they get screwed. There's several tools on aminet for this, usually named something including 'rdb'
