Linux was ported/converted to the Gamecube by developers who were neither endorsed by Nintendo nor did have any 'official' documentation. If Amiga Inc. strike a deal to port OS4 officially on the Wii, I'm sure the fabulous Friedens twins will be up to the task.
Finally, Hyperion will be able to sell OS4 and we will able to buy real, quality hardware to run our favourite operating system on and play some innovative games, just like it was with the A500.
