Hi to all,
just read a very interesting article, which details how students have emulated the look and feel of low resolution / low refresh rate CRTs on modern LCDs.
http://www.digitallounge.gatech.edu/gaming/index.html?id=2824The code is apparently being incorporated in an Atari VCS emulator but will be freely available. Several Amiga games and demos used effects which relied on the fuzzyness of televisions and low-res monitors to hide the low resolution. Anti-aliasing is one example.
Hopefully a kind hearted developer will add this effect as an option to Win-Uae and E-Uae. It'll make ECS (and even AGA) based games and demos look much more authentic! Of course for productivity, we'll go back to our ultra sharp - crystal clear screens!
Good Day to All
