Some people (including myself) cannot realise, or forget, we're dealing with microscopic companies nowadays.

How many people do Amiga Inc., Eyetech or Genesi employ?  What are there assets, capital etc  These small outfits depend totally on larger companies for the manufacturing, shipping, testing and packaging of their products.  And since they're so small, they don't have a lot of control on these processes, more so when things go wrong.

It's not their fault, the sad truth is that the Amiga has shrunk to a diminutive niche market, that larger companies wouldn't bother getting into.  However, the internet can alter our perception of such companies.  For example, I would expect sterling service when shopping in a huge multi storey shop but be lineant if I entered a small, family run shop.  However, on the internet, there's no indication of wether you're dealing with a sizeable company or a tiny outfit.

Subtle hints, like the Genesi top guy attacking every user like a rabid dog, or Amiga Inc's wankers talking endlessly about nothing, might shed light on the true nature of these companies.

This is not a complaint!  I am prepared to put up with all of it, since I still use and support my Amigas.  Yes, I'm sceptical, like a lot of other people here.   But I still have faith in the Amiga community, and I feel we're closer then ever to our goal.

Genesi have delivered a disappointing, half baked product.  But Eyetech has come up with the goods, and if Hyperion follow suite, I won't mind waiting for months or paying relativly high prices for my machine.  At the end of the day, what counts is having a powerfull, brand new Amiga Computer on my desk!!

@ Dart & Hooligan

oops! Treaded on the Genesi supporter toes!

Did you read the reviews guys?  Did you notice the complaints?  I haven't endured the pain of using sMurfOS, true, but shouldn't you two shut up until the OS you're trumpeting about works correctly?   When the peg. and sMurfOS deliver the goods, I'll consider investing in one, and you two can post happily praising the virtues of sMorfOS, but at the moment, there isn't really anything to get excited about.

You shouldn't never knock down other systems, more so when the one you're defending is choke full of bugs, unstable, runs only a handfull of titles and barely works.

Bye ppl

@ Dart
I never said anything like that!  As you've rightfully stated, OS4 isn't out yet!  I was criticising all those who jumped at every opportunity at bashing the A1/OS4!  Infact, I totally agree on all the points you make, regarding the Audio market for our machine.  Even though I am not attracted by the Pegasos / MorphOS option, I sincerely hope you succeed in your goal of making them a viable audio platform.

@Hooligan
you're the ACE boss!  Write something worth reading for once mate!  I don't have time to read every post in every thread either, but I've yet to see something written by you which is original and/or constructive.  Take you med. you need it!!!

@Helgis
stick to your plans mate, eventually, when you'll fit your m.board in that ATX case, install OS4 and start enjoying your system, you'll forget about all this!

@Frode
although, I never used MorphOS myself.  I find it really hard to beleive you.  How can MorphOS be better then ALL the operating systems you've listed, when others complain of frequent crashed, incompatibilities and essential features missing.  I know if you REALLY want to like something you will, no matter what, but still........   my regards to Gollum.
