If you are using the stock A600 then you will be limited to 4 channels. But if you upgrade your A600 with an accellerator then you can do 64 channels like the rest of us.
Swap the audio connections for Left/Right and see if the other speaker gets quieter. If so, it's a problem on the Amiga side. If not, it's a problem in the monitor (or external speakers).
Balance control on the speakers themselves?
I had the exact same problem with a 4000, it was down to failing capacitors. I would imagine that your 600 is due a change.
