Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
« on: June 23, 2003, 12:58:38 PM »
I remembered last night that I still haven't managed to complete the game, due to a faulty disk 6.  Would anyone would be kind enough to sort me out with an archive of it?

I couldn't install it at the time as I didn't have a hard disk for my (then) A500, and I hadn't installed it since on my A1200 because disk 6 was knackered :-)

- edits out swearword -  I don't remember a protection mechanism for this game... as I don't remember it chances are I've chucked it.  Can you remind me what the mechanism consisted of?

I wonder if I bought it when it hit the budget shelves, sometimes they have the protection removed..

Honestly, I bought the game!

Maybe when the weather cools down tonight I'll go into the loft and check the disks.

99% of the time PC versions of these old games ran in DOS, therefore sucked :-)  Probably PC-speaker SFX too :-)

When you start the game, there will be a screen with three concetric rings with a sun, moon and volcano on. You have to refer to the part of the manual indicated and click on them to align them exactly (there are 256 combinations)

There's a puzzle like that actually in the game though isn't there?  It rings a bell, just not a copy protection-related bell :-)

doesn't like AGA much... would that account for the corrupted pointer then?

hmm, running without startup-sequence, and setting for OCS, the pointer still is quite inaccurate, the pointer is in one place, and selecting aims at something quite further down from the pointer, using WinUAE.  If anyone has any ideas... or I'll start a new thread so hopefully the emulator lot notice...

other problem is, I didn't keep the savegame disk, so I have to do it all over again :-)

Mine is HD installable, I have done so.  Running as AGA I get a massive pointer corruption.  Running as OCS (through early startup menu) the pointer is just a bit inaccurate (aim an inch above where you want to select... irritating).

I tried switching off CPU caching in UAE but no diff.  If someone doesn't have any probs, send me your UAE config file please :-)
