Signing up someone's email address to a number of mailing lists without their consent requires a level of humour that I'd put on par with the type of person who prank-calls emergency services.  Whoever it was, grow up, seriously, or stop playing with daddy's computer and go back to your toys.

It was actual mailing lists, and site signups - how many spammers do you know that sign you up for [log in] membership on redhat.com? :-)  I thought initially it might be email harvesting going on, but from the types of email spam I got, I know it's not that.

I got some confirmation requests, but some mailing lists are still semi-reputable that don't have this system.

How are you sure it was an Amiga.org member?

The email alias I use for amiga.org isn't used for anything else.  I literally don't use the alias at all, I just receive mail, and until now I've had no spam through it, except for a significant number last night.  That and also because of the type of spam being received, I know it was an amiga.org user.
