Why not just use an LCD TV with an RGB to SCART cable?

It's cheap and it does the job nicely.

Because it doesn't does the job nicely. Jerky scrolling, 'softened' picture and comb-effects is what you get.

It's not perfect by any means but it's better than nowt. :)

Sure thing, an amiga gathering dust is sacrilege! Personally I have a 1084s for my miggies but I am considering an x-rgb... not sure though, I want to get the max out of my Amigas, so is that when I hook it up to my 20" sony crt or is the raw original the best way to experience Amiga 500/1200 games?

I've got a 1084 still around that I bought a couple of years ago, but for me to get the authentic late 80's feeling back I'd have to go to and find a crappy old CRT TV-set that blurs the pixels for that retro 82^16xFSAA effect like I had when I was a kid. :)
Well, my memories of the Amiga is the Amiga of my cousins, with which they had hooked on a 1084, so I guess I'll stich with the 1084 :)

Has gens sold out of Indivsions btw?
I don't know, a quick look on the Vesalia.de website shows that the AGA model has sold out though.

I've thought about the Indivision, but I have hooked up more than an Amiga to my 1084 so that rules the Indivision out.
