I don't think you can get any picture on a standard CRT tv, though you might have more luck with a new LCD, LED or plasma screen as the scandoublers in the tv are often both capable of handling all kinds of signals (it's cheaper for the manufacturer that way).
You might as well look at the specs on the power supply. Often these are as well universal for the very same reason of being cheaper to produce that way. You then only need a changer for the plug so it can fit in a US outlet.  Which is very cheap of course :)
