DAMMIT!
« on: August 13, 2008, 02:20:51 PM »
I could've had a graduate project here
They just phoned me to participate in a project.
*sigh* twas always a dream of me to work with space technology. But time was short and I really needed a graduate project before September, and now I have a graduate project elsewhere.

Can't you sack off the other one and do this one instead?
No, they expect me the 1st of September. Everything has been managed. (or how do you say that in English?)

But there's a mixed feeling, they called me back for this, so I'm happy too, it means that there's work for me, that I am able to get a dream job. I mean, after this graduate project, I need to find work, don't I? :-)

Arranged?

Well, why not contact them and [d]arrange[/d] explain that you have been offered your dream placement and see if they would be prepared to allow you to switch? The worst they can do is say no.
Well, I've arranged it with them and with the faculty. It's far from bad where I'll be doing my graduate project now, it's in industrial automization and I want to keep good contacts in that sector.
But I'll keep on flirting with Astron, certainly! :-D

That's a very professional attitude. If I were to be offered my dream job and I had already accepted one elsewhere, then it would take an extraordinary strength of will to honour my original commitment rather than trying to weasel my way out of it

You're typically an Apple slut! ;-)

I must correct myself, if does exists, only in a future sense.
