Open Video Toaster mirror?
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:31:57 PM »
My notebook died and took with it my only copy of the Open Video Toaster source code.

It looks like the site is gone, so is it mirrored anywhere?

If Bill thinks he's made what he can from the CD's, maybe we should put it up somewhere like sourceforge or github, etc?

It would be a shame to let it just get lost over time.

Some mailware killed the site last year. I've been meaning to put it back up, just going to take a few hours to do when I have a chance.

Ouch.

Are you OK with a mirror or a host you don't have to deal with?  I'm thinking one with revision control in case anyone wants to submit changes.  I've got a few, but nothing worth a big release or anything.

I don't want to cut your ability to sell CD's, but I'd hate to lose it.

I did recover part of my drive, including the zips I downloaded, so I've still got a copy.

Let me know, I've been meaning to put the OpenPCI source code up somewhere anyway.

So, I have Toaster 3.0 (installed on a HDD when I got a Amiga 2000HD) and bought the 2.0 manual and disks off the internet. I used it use an Amiga with roughly the same setup for a production house in the early '90s.

I was curious about Open Toaster. Big differences? Really, I am not a lightwave person. Just really like the switch effects, CG, and GenLock.

Also, are you still selling the CD?

I can't answer on the CD, but I can comment on the other part.

Open Toaster is the assembly and C source code for Toaster 4.2.  As far as I'm aware, it has never been built and distributed in a form that you could run.

4.2 is a pretty big difference, but IMHO 3.x is better if you don't also use a Flyer.
