It actually connects to the Toaster card.

Do you have this manual? http://www.smithav.com/ycplus/docs/ycp-100man.pdf

I'm assuming you have a Toaster 4000 card.  For a 2000 card, good luck finding that cable.

the manual says:

Step 6: [/B][/FONT]Install the other ribbon cable from JP-3 to JP-6 (Rear) of the Video Toaster. (Note: If a
Flyer is installed in your 2000 series computer a YCP-Flyer cable is required.) You may
want to power up and check the program output to be active from the YCP-100.

I have an Amiga 4000T with latest Video toaster 4000 card.

It says YCP-Flyer cable is required, Do I have this what is this?

If we cant get this to work I will not get the card

Thanks!

It's worded a little bit wrong.  It says "if a Flyer is installed in your 2000 series computer..." when I'm 99% sure it means "When using an original Toaster (2000) with a Flyer and YCP...".  Many people use Toaster 4000's in their Amiga 2000's, so that isn't accurate.

The connections for the Toaster 4000 and Toaster 2000 are very different.  The 4000 was purposely designed to support the Flyer, but it was sort of hacked onto the original model.

As far as I'm aware, you just need the two flat cables going straight across as shown in the pdf.

In this pic, you can see how the Flyer connects to the Toaster 4000.  The two connections used by the Y/C Plus are unused.

I won't swear by it, but I don't recall anything special being needed.

The Flyer is just a disk recorder.  It gets input from the Toaster card and outputs back through the Toaster card through that flat cable in the pic.

The Y/C Plus is just a Y/C adapter for the Toaster.  It connects to the Toaster with those two flat cables shown in the manual.

In: s-video camera -> s-video TBC -> Y/C plus ->Toaster->Flyer

Back out: Flyer->Toaster->Y/C Plus-> s-video VCR -> s-video monitor

Thanks!

Then what are the Audio/Video inputs on the flyer card for?

The audio's are for audio in and out.  The other two cards have no audio capability.

The Y/C connector on the Flyer was for never released expansions.

I'm pretty sure it's like the Toaster.

I think it's from the top:
1
2
3
4
preview
program

It's been a while though, but no harm in getting it wrong.  At worst you don't see anything.
