Recurring payment or not?

I got a notice that my membership is about to expire in two days.

When I went to renew, I noticed that it can be set up as a recurring payment, but I have no idea if I did that last time.

Can a mod tell me if I need to manually renew or if it will automatically get pulled out of the same account again?

I just don't want to let it slip or accidentally tack on another recurring payment every year.  After a few years that could add up!

Agreed.  If I donate, I'd like it to be a conscious decision not a paperwork problem.

I think I went through the kitty link and donated to get it last time, but I'm just not positive.

Just a note about subscribing...

I can either subscribe for $20 and let it be a recurring payment or pay $10 donation to the kitty once.

I would easily have paid $20, but I didn't like the idea of it recurring.

Since I couldn't donate $20+ and get a one time payment, the site lost money.  I was afraid that if I donated twice so close together that paypal would flag it.

It would also be highly preferable if the user had a way to know which way they had paid, perhaps in the email notification.
