I wouldn't spend that for a rev. 3.0 3640 personally.

I sold a few for $50 each a while back and some were rev. 3.1 and 3.2.

If you find a 3640 cheap, absolutely upgrade from the 030.  They are good for what they are and very stable.

They just don't give the full speed potential of the 040 since there is no onboard RAM and you don't get the faster onboard scsi that most cards have.

The WarpEngine 3040 is fine in a 4000 too.

I've got one in mine and the only difference is that it can only hold up to 64MB and has angled sockets for the RAM.

If you're upgrading from only motherboard RAM to motherboard plus 64MB, you'll still be very happy.
